As part of a pilot project, dogs weighing up to 30 kg are allowed to travel in the cabin together with their owner.
There are some clear rules that apply:
- The dog is sitting on the floor in the window seat.
- An absorbent pad is used.
- The dog stays next to its owner.
- Other passengers should not be disturbed.
The project will initially launch on domestic Italian flights.

So far, most airlines in Europe only allow:
- Small dogs up to 8-10 kg in the cabin
- Larger dogs only in the cargo hold
Many dog owners therefore avoid air travel altogether.
The option to take larger dogs in the cabin means:
